Tangier Island Nautical Chart
Alone in the middle of Tangier Sound, Tangier is the Bay's most singular landfall — crab shanties on stilts, watermen's workboats, and a working harbor threaded by a marked channel. The chart shows the western entrance channel, the thin water either side of it, and the county dock where visiting boats lie. Approaches outside the marks shoal quickly to 1–3 ft; stay in the channel the whole way in.
